We have a number of missionary links around the world.
Anthony and Elizabeth Houiellebecq are our new CMS Link.
Hugo Vergara is our link in Argentina. Hugo has written recently to us:
We have been working hard. I have been involved in working at the University in Tucuman teaching students about discipleship and character. In 2005 we will be trying to develop a new Ichtus centre in Salta, in one of the first churches we planted during the 90s. Please pray for the young people involved in this ministry, mainly Jose and Antonia student leaders, at Prince of Peace church, very close to the University. We will be moving to live in this neighborhood quite soon.
The second area is my pastoral ministry for vicars and lay leaders. We are trying now to re-organise the work in the Urban area, with new patterns for training, working together as a close team with a minister supporting. Next Saturday we will have a retreat for them, planning next year and developing this pattern to work in unity. Please pray for this important event
The new church in Jujuy is growing and plenty of newcomers are attending this church, but some of the leaders are facing financial and family problems so they are not able for the follow up. Please pray for this team and for the economical situation in this city, one of the poorest in the Country.
We are planning two camps to train young people to train others. We lack good young leaders, and it is important to help them prepare and teach during these events, so that they can attract other young people. Maybe some of your young people would be able to visit during your summer, some time in the future?
The church in Tucuman, where there is very strong work with students is waiting for the coordinator of the Ichtus centre to return, This year was difficult because I was not able to help them all the time, but there is a big group of 30 or 40 longing to work harder. Here we have a plenty of couples working to help others couples.
Please pray for ALPHA in Tucuman that next year that we would be able to have at least three courses. And to start one in Saint Andrews Church, Salta.
You also are in our hearts and we pray that the new minister will be a blessing for you.
